Hello and welcome to my website, The information here will give you a good indication of what I do, why I do it, and in some cases how.

Whether it is for a Pre-Purchase survey, Insurance or Damage survey, Ultrasonic Thickness gauging, Valuations or Initial advice and assistance I can offer all levels of Surveys and Services tailored to your specific requirements. I live close to Portland Marina, Osprey Quay, Hamm Beach Road, Portland, Dorset, DT5 1DX, but I am extensively experienced in travelling all over Europe for my clients surveys. My yacht and office is located in Dubrovnik Croatia within easy access of all Croatian Marinas and ports.

I will conduct up to 12 – 15 examinations or test in each of over 35 categories during the survey depending on craft and service required. On completion I will give you a verbal overview via telephone, often the same day. The written report typically will include around 25 – 28 pages of easy to understand recommendations and practical, pragmatic advice. This will normally be emailed and sent under hard copy within 72hrs. It does not stop there, I continue to offer all my clients free continuing support for as long as they want it.

Tonnage Registration and measurements are conducted by myself through certifying authorities such as the RYA and I can assist you with these should you require. Insurance surveys specifically designed for your periodic renewals are being pioneered by us at the BMSE to give you a quality service with greater value for money.

I am centrally located North of Weymouth in Dorset so can travel between Exeter and Chichester with relative ease. I also keep a yacht come office out in Gouvia Marina Corfu Greece. I travel there frequently and will be happy to conduct your surveys out there or on the near by Islands and Mainland.

In my youth I served in The Royal Corps of Signals where my love of sailing was brought to the fore and I am honoured to be a Lifetime member of the Army Sailing Association (ASA). More recently I had a successful career in the Dorset Police where my investigative skills were finely tuned. Having retired I remain a member of The National Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPO).

I obtained a Meritous Diploma in Yacht and Small Craft Surveying, qualifying me as a surveyor; at the world-renowned International Boat Building & Training College in Lowestoft. This is an intensive practical course where the specialist skills and techniques required are tested to the full.
I am a full and committee member of the British Marine Surveyors Europe and was an Affiliated Member of the Yacht Designers & Surveyors association.

I offer you a fully insured comprehensive, honest and thorough no-nonsense service and you will find me helpful, friendly and very approachable.

I look forward to discussing your requirements without any obligation.
